In the match between world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula (USA, world No. 4), the American prevailed in three sets and will face Linda Noskova in Sunday’s final. The young Czech player Linda Noskova (WTA No. 13) had defeated Berlin’s fan favorite Alexandra Eala 6-2, 6-4. Aryna Sabalenka has held the World No. 1 ranking continuously since October 2024, making her one of the favorites at every tournament she enters. Aryna Sabalenka was determined to finally capture the Berlin title this year during her sixth appearance at the Steffi Graf Stadion. Her opponent, Jessica Pegula, arrived as the former 2024 champion and world No. 4. Despite being one of the most consistent players on the WTA Tour, Pegula entered the match facing a difficult challenge, with Sabalenka leading their head-to-head series 9–3.

Another grass-court title slips through Sabalenka's fingers as Pegula proves too strong.

The match turned into a fast-paced and closely contested duel, with Pegula holding serve a little more comfortably and securing an early break to take a 2–1 lead. Maintaining her lead, she closed out the first set 6-4. Just as in the quarterfinals, Sabalenka was forced to push the match to a third set. She managed to do so by first securing an early break in the second set and then pulling ahead to 5–2.Pegula, however, stayed resilient and leveled the score at 6–6 before a rain delay suspended play. After the break, Sabalenka came back strong and took the second set 7–6 in a tiebreak. The third set told a very different story, with Pegula doing everything right and Sabalenka unable to find any answers. The final score was 6–4, 6–7, 6–0 for the American, who will face Linda Noskova in Sunday’s final.

Alexandra Eala's impressive run comes to an end against Linda Noskova.

The second semifinal of the day featured two of the brightest young talents on tour: Czech rising star Linda Noskova and Alexandra Eala from the Philippines. Both are just 21 years old, excel on grass, and have been in top form throughout the tournament so far. On her way to the semifinals, Noskova had defeated Renata Zarazua, Diane Parry, and Paula Badosa, who had previously beaten Gauff. Eala secured victories over Queen’s champion Donna Vekic, world No. 2 Elena Rybakina, and former world No. 3 Elina Svitolina.

Linda Noskova secures her spot in the final after 69 minutes of play

Noskova took the first set 6-2 in just 29 minutes. She broke serve early to take a 1-0 lead, but Ealaimmediately broke back to level the score at 1-1. After two more breaks, Noskova quickly took a 5-2 lead and converted her third set point to win 6-2. At first, the second set seemed to offer Alexandra Eala a chance to stage a comeback. After falling behind 1–3 early on once again, she turned the set around to take a 4–3 lead. But Noskova showed no further signs of weakness, broke Eala’s serve, who was visibly struggling with her bandaged left arm, and, after 69 minutes, converted her first match point to win 6–2, 6–4.

Sara Errani (ITA)/Nicole Melichar-Martinez (USA) Secure First Spot in the Final

Due to several rain delays, the doubles semifinal between Asia Muhammad (USA)/Fanny Stollar(HUN) and Sara Errani (ITA)/Nicole Melichar-Martinez (USA) had to be moved from Center Court to Court 1. There, spectators witnessed a fast-paced match that was very evenly matched until the score reached 3–3. Sara Errani and Nicole Melichar-Martinez took control to claim the first set 6–3. They started the second set just as confidently, pulling ahead to 1–3 and 2–5 after an early break.Muhammad and Stollar fought back to 4–5, but Errani and Melichar-Martinez sealed the win on their third match point.

For Sara Errani, this is just another highlight in a long, successful doubles career. The Italian has been among the world’s best in doubles for years and has won Grand Slam titles in both women’s and mixed doubles. She also achieved the rare Career Grand Slam and won the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris alongside her partner Jasmine Paolini. In 2025, the pair finished in second place in Berlin.

The second semifinal will be resumed on Sunday.

At the end of a long day of tennis, the Steffi Graf Stadion was set to host the match for the last remaining spot in one of the two finals. On the court was the doubles team of Ekaterina Alexandrovaand Linda Noskova, who had not dropped a single set on their way to the final.
